DONATION PAGE

The SPPOA is a non-profit organization that donates to several orgainizations throughout the community. Last year, the SPPOA donated $4525 in the form of contributions or scholarships throughout the community. In 2003, the SPPOA donated more that $7000 in contributions.

In addition to the contributions to several organizations throughout the community and surrounding areas, the Santa Paula Police Officer Association offers a scholarship of up to $400 a semester for college to the sons and daughters of SPPOA members.

The SPPOA is proud to contribute to the SPPD Reserve program and has sponsored several reserve officers for training.  In 2004, the SPPOA sponsored 5 reserve officers in the Best of the West shooting competition. 

The SPPOA has also sponsored the youth within the community for several programs including the Young Marines and Civil Air Patrol.

In 2004 the SPPOA endorsed Sgt. Gary Marshall for Santa Paula Elementary School Board.  The SPPOA also contributed $500 for his campaign. Sgt. Gary Marshall was elected to his seat on the elementary school board.

This year the SPPOA donated to the families of city workers or former police officers who were unexpectedly struck with injury or deaths in the family.

All donation requests are reviewed by the SPPOA Board of Directors.  Unfortunately due to the large amount requests only organizations that the directors think are in greatest need of our support will receive contributions.  All donation requests should be received 30 days prior to donation deadline.

Note:  In the month of June 2005, SPPOA members voted to amend the current guidelines for donation requests.  As of this date, it may be necessary for the recipient of a donation to submit a letter to the editor of the Santa Paula Times thanking the SPPOA for their donation.
